John Polhamus Sterling Silver Flatware Patterns
John Polhamus was founded around the year 1833 in New York, NY. The silversmith company lasted till 1877. John Polhamus is an important maker of sterling flatware and for a short period of time produced silver for Tiffany & Co. Many items produced by John Polhamus carries only a retailer's mark or simply the initials JP. Most flatware dies were acquired by Geo. W. Shiebler & Co.; at least one was acquired by the Whiting Mfg. Co.
